March 19, 2022 - Holman Field National Guard Aviation Brigade
Hometown Hero Outdoors hosted their 4th annual banquet and fundraiser. Over 300 people attended the wonderful evening and their generosity was on full display! Guests were able to experience a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter live in person. To guide the night was emcee, Laura Schara. Guests learned about the status of the organization to include upcoming initiatives to assist their members.
HHO's "Person of the Year & Guest of Honor," was Dwain Bell. Dwain was a part of the 170th Combat Engineering Battalion who was sent to the Philippines to build bridges that were critical to the supply chain on the island. He was strafed daily by Japanese fighter pilots with no cover and nowhere to go. After the war, Dwain has been well integrated into the community and has cherished his family and friends. He also has a unique friendship with our treasurer, Chris Urman.
Guests also heard from our long time friend and supporter, Tony Roach (Roach Guide Service, Rapala Pro Staff & Ice Force.)
It was an evening to remember and has set the course for success for the future of HHO. We cant thank all our sponsors and guests enough.
