Over the course of two weeks, John Sewell and the team at Harris Ranch welcomed 12 Hometown Hero Outdoors (HHO) members to take part in their whitetail management program. This special opportunity allowed participants to contribute to conservation efforts by harvesting management bucks, while also creating unforgettable experiences in the great outdoors.
Members from diverse career fields—currently serving military, veterans, law enforcement, and paramedics—all came together at the ranch. Beyond the hunts, the trip was a chance to connect, unwind, and forge lasting bonds. By the end of the experience, everyone left with full coolers of venison and countless good memories to share with friends and family.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the West Texas Chapter of Safari Club International and HEB for their generous support. Their contributions, including groceries to fuel our heroes, played a vital role in making this trip a success.
At Hometown Hero Outdoors, these opportunities go beyond the hunt—they provide moments of healing, camaraderie, and connection for those who serve and protect our communities and country. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, and to our heroes for their continued service and dedication.
