Adventure in the Boundary Waters: A Memorable BWCA Trip

This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to take two veterans, their sons, and my own son on an unforgettable trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). We entered the BWCA through Entry Point 16, Moose River North, embarking on a scenic journey that included six hours of paddling and portaging to reach Lake Agnes.

Once on Lake Agnes, we spent several days fishing for walleye and smallmouth bass, fully immersing ourselves in the breathtaking wilderness. The camaraderie among the veterans and their sons created a supportive atmosphere, allowing everyone to bond over shared experiences and the thrill of fishing in such a stunning setting.

On our return journey, we split the trip in half and spent an evening on Nina Moose Lake, where the group enjoyed catching some beautiful crappies, adding to the excitement of the trip.

A special thank you goes to Packsack Canoe for providing the gear that made this adventure possible. Their support was instrumental in ensuring our journey was comfortable and enjoyable.

This trip was a testament to the healing power of nature and the importance of camaraderie among veterans. Here’s to more adventures in the great outdoors!
