The North Dakota Chapter joined forces with Pheasants For the Future and VFW Post 753 to chase natural birds on private property around Minot, North Dakota. It was a brisk morning with pretty high winds, but they pulled it all together with a mountain of birds at the end of the day. A few members dropped their first-ever pheasants. In total, they ended with 54 pheasants and 3 Hungarian partridge.
At the end of the hunt, awards were given to the 3 longest tail feathers, and one lucky hunter was presented with a $500 gift card that was graciously donated by the Minot Scheels store Assistant Store Leader Dallas Rice.
Larry Verraneault, an HHO member who participated in last year's hunt, was presented with a mount from his first-ever pheasant, which he shot at the age of 75. Last year's hunt had such an impact that he joined Pheasants for the Future as a board member.
