This Weeks Wins, Adventures, and What’s Coming Next for HHO
Week of August 25, 2025
Command Post Update
August is wrapping up, and with September just around the corner, we can feel the shift—fall hunting seasons are beginning to open, trips are filling the calendar, and excitement is building across the country.
From early goose and archery to deer, small game, and waterfowl, it’s about to be one of the busiest times of the year for our members and volunteers. At the same time, our organizational growth continues: new fundraisers, fresh partnerships, and improved tools for our members.
We’re ironing out a few kinks on the website as folks register for trips, and we’re gearing up to launch our new pre-order HHO Store, featuring Defender gear, new hats, and an exciting collaboration with UNRL clothing. Big things are coming—both in the field and behind the scenes.

Field Report
Our trip calendar is packed with opportunities for adventure. Here’s a look at what’s posted and coming up:
- Colorado: Cast & Blast trip with GSO fishing.
- North Dakota: Upland game hunt, youth pheasant hunt, buffalo hunt, and our 4th Annual ND Pheasant Hunt.
- South Dakota: Fishing trip with 605 Outfitters.
- Texas: Dove hunt.
- Minnesota: Guided Mille Lacs fishing trip.
Each of these trips is another chance for our members to reset, recharge, and find connection in the outdoors.
Mission Wins
We’ve had some major momentum this week:
- Grant Support: We’re thrilled to welcome Krista to the team, lending her skills to help with grant writing. Every step we take to strengthen our funding means more heroes served in the future.
- Hero Chronicles: Huge news—we’re on the brink of launching partnerships with sponsors to bring Hero Chronicles to a new Minnesota TV market. This is a massive milestone, and it’s only the beginning. Other states are on the horizon, and the train is leaving the station fast. If you want to showcase your brand while supporting our mission, now is the time to get on board.
- Community Fundraisers: We’re excited for upcoming events including the Brooklyn Park Police Federation Golf Tournament (Sept. 5), the Milaca/Princeton Golf Tournament benefiting HHO, Field of Bands in Stillwater, and the Lancastle Summer Extravaganza (Sept. 12). These events not only raise funds but also bring our community closer together.
Recon & Intel
Looking ahead, September is loaded with opportunities:
- Tailgating Parties at The Lumberjack – Every Vikings home game, all season long.
- Golf Tournaments – Brooklyn Park Police Federation on Sept. 5 + Milaca/Princeton tournament for HHO.
- Field of Bands – September in Stillwater.
- Lancastle Summer Extravaganza – Sept. 12.
On the raffle side:
- Our current raffle (Rambo e-bike + Ravin crossbow, one big winner) is wrapping up soon.
- A brand-new ATV raffle is coming up—stay tuned for details!
