Chris Tetrault is a medically retired Minnesota Game Warden, veteran, and co-founder of Hometown Hero Outdoors. After a career in high-stress service and the loss of multiple friends in the line of duty, he recognized the urgent need for meaningful support beyond traditional resources. He help begin Hometown Hero Outdoors to use outdoor adventure, camaraderie, and storytelling as tools to help veterans, service members, and first responders reset, reconnect, and move forward. His leadership is driven by lived experience and a firm belief that those who serve should never have to carry the weight alone.

Shaun was born and raised in Valley City, North Dakota. He grew up enjoying outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping. In 2001, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 20 years in various locations both in the U.S. and overseas, including two combat deployments to Iraq. Currently, Shaun and his family live near DeLeon, Texas.

Shaun is passionate about wildlife conservation and enjoys educating both adults and youth about it. His priority is working with and helping others.

Phil’s passion for the outdoors was ignited during his upbringing in Minnesota, where he still resides with his wife of 30 years. His career journey is equally fascinating. After a decade in law enforcement, he made a significant transition to the business world, where he now excels in Facility and Employee Safety Management.

Phil’s enthusiasm for outdoor activities, such as ice fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping, is truly infectious. But what sets him apart is his deep involvement in media production. He provides voice-over for HHO media and edits and produces the HHO podcasts, sharing his love for the outdoors with a wider audience.

Born and raised in Akron, OH, Todd spent many days camping, fishing, and hunting. Before enlisting in the US Army, he was a BSA camp staff member who served eight years of active duty. Today, he works at a large aerospace company.

Todd enjoys sharing his experiences outdoors in the upland field. He believes building memories for our members is the key to our success.

Jimmy serves in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, currently stationed in Colorado. Leadership, accountability, and service to others define his career—and those same values extend beyond the uniform into his commitment to giving back through the outdoors. A lifelong outdoorsman, Jimmy has volunteered with Hometown Hero Outdoors for nearly five years and is passionate about providing our heroes with meaningful outdoor experiences that foster camaraderie, healing, and a chance to reset from the demands of daily life.

When not serving or volunteering, Jimmy can be found in the field or on the water. Waterfowl hunting and warm-water fishing are personal passions, but what matters most is sharing those experiences with others, especially his two sons. With the unwavering support of his wife, Jimmy believes the outdoors is more than recreation—it’s a powerful way to build resilience, strengthen family bonds, and continue serving those who serve.
