Team Minnesota took five Hometown Hero Outdoors members to Lac Qui Parle area for a winter weekend of waterfowl and upland hunting — and the experience delivered everything we love about time outdoors.
The group pushed through classic Minnesota conditions: heavy winds, blowing snow, and stubborn flocks that refused to commit. Mother Nature made the waterfowl hunt a grind, but the team stayed after it, kept spirits high, and made the most of every moment in the field.
What the weather took from the duck blind, it gave back in the uplands. The crew shifted gears and enjoyed a strong pheasant shoot, rounding out the weekend with great shooting, great laughs, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from shared challenge.
Trips like this remind us why outdoor resets matter. When service members, veterans, and first responders come together with a good guide, good dogs, and a good attitude — even a tough-weather hunt becomes a memory worth keeping.
