Operation Guardians Sentinel: Walking for Suicide Awareness and Prevention
Registration Per State Below
Operation Guardians Sentinel is a compassionate initiative led by Hometown Hero Outdoors (HHO), dedicated to shedding light on the critical issue of suicide within our community. This impactful event is a call to action, seeking to bring awareness to the alarming number of lives lost and to create a powerful message of hope and support for those struggling with mental health challenges.
Hometown Hero Outdoors, a staunch advocate for mental health, has organized this suicide awareness and prevention walk to honor the memory of those who have tragically lost their lives to suicide and to provide a beacon of hope for those who may be battling their own internal struggles. The initiative underscores the organization's unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference by preventing future suicides and fostering a supportive environment for individuals facing mental health issues.
Throughout the entire month of September, a pivotal time when discussions about mental health take center stage, Hometown Hero Outdoors will lead awareness-raising walks in various states. These walks are designed not only to bring attention to the epidemic of suicide but also to encourage open dialogue about mental health, break down stigma, and promote understanding within communities.
The heart of Operation Guardians Sentinel lies in its emphasis on education and support. The funds generated through these walks will directly contribute to training Hometown Hero Outdoors staff in crisis intervention, specifically through the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) program. By equipping their team with the tools and knowledge to effectively intervene and provide help, the initiative strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.
To encourage participation and gratitude for support, HHO offers a meaningful token of appreciation. Contributors to the cause will receive a "Your Story Isn't Over" shirt, thoughtfully crafted by Relentless Defender. This shirt serves as a poignant reminder that there is hope, and each person's story is deserving of the chance to evolve and find a brighter path.
Join Hometown Hero Outdoors in their Operation Guardians Sentinel walks across various states this September. By being part of this movement, you're not only showing your solidarity for those who have been affected by suicide but also actively contributing to the betterment of mental health awareness and prevention efforts in your community and beyond.
