Our sole mission is to give back to the men and women who serve our nation and community without any intention of receiving anything in return. This includes first responders, veterans, and those currently serving in the military.
I've been on several HHO trips since joining. I am currently being medically retired as a Deputy with PTSD stemming from the riots last year in Minneapolis. "Don't really feel like myself very much anymore but the few trips I've been on has been the best time I've had in a very long time. On these trips I don't feel judged and though I was never in the military I feel like I can relate to the people I've hunted with. The field staff I've hunted with (Andy, Tony and Chris) are amazing and so helpful. The best part is the friendships I have made from the trips."

Although HHO means a bunch of experiences for us vets and we often don't think about the "why" of why we are there, I have seen the HHO community come together and legitimately save lives for brothers and sisters on the edge, and get them the help they need.

The experience I received on this trip was much needed. I was able to do something I enjoy while spending time with people that have a similar background. The ability to have a conversation and open up a bit and have someone understand where you have been or going in life was valuable to me. Thank you.

HHO has cost me a lot of money by getting me back into the outdoors and I love them for that!!! I have been blessed to have been on multiple HHO trips. There never was a bad trip and the staff/people have always been amazing. It is by far one of the best if not the best organization for getting veterans and first responders in the outdoors.

Having organizations like HHO allow people to disconnect from the world and just be one with nature and be around others who may have the same issues and allow them to share what helps get them through the day.

Hometown Hero Outdoors is a non-profit organization facilitating outdoor adventures for serving military, military veterans, and first responders actively. These adventures include hunting, fishing, backpacking, foraging, camping, snowmobiling, and much more. Our primary goal is to assist these individuals as they begin healing and building healthy relationships within the community by:
Encouraging them to get up and get moving.
Connecting them with likeminded individuals.
Reminding them that they are appreciated and cared for.
Allowing them to explore and be adventurous in a safe setting.
